Peridot

Peridot is considered one of the world’s oldest gems, it was discovered as early as 1500 B.C. in the Egyptian Red Sea.

Today, most gem miners find peridot as irregular nodules in some lava flows in the United States, China, and Vietnam.

Peridot is one of the only gemstones that occurs in only one color. It is a transparent yellowish green stone made of Olivine; and is most known for being the birthstone of August. It is often given as a 16th wedding anniversary, as well.

A natural peridot has many uses. It helps cure diseases related to lungs, breasts, intestinal tract, spleen and lymph. It may also have many magical effects on the eye, stomach, thyroid, liver and other body parts.
